STRATHOS

In march 2025 I received an email frome someone named Patience Omemo who was supposed to be a Dreamworks hiring manager offering a job opportunity at one of the biggest animation studios as character designer for an animated feature film.
I was kind of suspicious cause she didn't write from an official DreamWorks email address and cause I didn't find any Dreamworks hiring manager with her name when I googled her.
I asked her about that and she (or he) said that it was ok to be suspicious but no worries because after completing a 48 hours character design test, I was going to be contacted directly by someone named "X" (who in fact, seems to be a real head of Recruiting at this big Animation Studio).
So I finally completed the test with the next promp:

"Design a young warrior-in-training (16–18 years old)
This character is ambitious but not yet experienced. They’re clever, slightly rebellious, and secretly yearn to explore the world below the clouds—something forbidden by their society.
Gender: Your choice
Class: Uses a polearm or spear, trained in aerial combat
Vibe: Energetic, determined.
Clothing: Should reflect both lightness (for flight) Think layered armor or gear with personality—maybe pieces they’ve customized or earned.
Deliverables (Digital, Colored):
dynamic pose (e.g., mid-air attack or training moment)
Visual Style: Stylized anatomy with semi-realistic proportions (not chibi or super-deformed). Clear, clean line art.
Expression sheet (At least 2 different expressions)"

After finishing and sending the test to her (or him), I never received any further answer.
I sent an invitation to "X" through LinkedIn and sent her a message asking for any information about this "Patience Omemo". She accepted y invitation to connect but I still don't know if Patience Omemo is a real hiring maneger or jus a scamer.
Anyway, at least I have this beautiful new exercise for my characters portfolio.
